He wanted something with an efficiency in the mid 90s, those ATCs woofers are in the mid 80s.

thankyou lads
I love the ATC/Volt drivers as they are very serious at low volumes and can put out at extreme situations..
I have tried the mids at 380hz and 800hz.If I only use one with 2 midbass than maybe 800hz would be a better choice.I will experiment somemore with the 2 mids a little more.
I also have 4 brand new 8 inch JBL 2118's...I have never used these before but I have 3 builds on the go this winter.

1- 2 Volt 3143,,1-ATC 75/150,,1-SS-9700 per side in a 6.75CF cabinet with a front firing slot vent crossed at 380/3800hz/24db.

2-A Dunlavy coffin style(the owner loves this style) with 24CF of air space housing 2-JBL 2445(one at the top and one at the bottom) with rear slot vent,, 2-JBL 2118(maybe),,ATC 75/150,,SS-9700.....alot of variables yet to conclude??

3-Monitor stye 3-way with separate sub system .
Monitor-2-10 inch Volt,,ATC 75/150S,SS-7100 in a 4CF box with 2(maybe 4) Aura NS-18 in induvidual 5.5CF cabinets.

Many factors to figure out over the X-mas holidays but I will start on the cabinets next week.

I have never looked at AE woofers but I will have a look.
thanks John

In the case of No1 I'd stay with 380Hz. As much as I love my 3143s they don't do too well above that, certainly not up to 800Hz.

Both No1 & No3 seem a bit familiar in concept:http://www.quested.com/pdfs/Quested-Custom-Systems.pdf

That is not a bad thing as Quested monitor are very good indeed. That said they do use the Volt mid range which looks very much like an ATC copy only a bit more expensive and Morel tweeters.
