I'm looking to put together a simple in wall speaker. These will be used for my computer speakers. Can someone design me a quick crossover? doesn't need to be crazy, 12db would be fine.
thanks ! |

3rd order worked out really well.

It is a SOLID 4Ω load with an impedance minimum of about 2.9Ω in the simulations.

Do yourself a favor, look at this design instead. Much better sounding tweeter.

Another proposal, a basic 2nd-order crossover:

I had no idea crossover components where so expensive. would I be ok just going with a 1st order? 1.7MH coil for the woofer and a 8.2UF cap for the tweeter?? Should I still use a resistor for a zobel?

You will blow that tweeter up at 2khz with only a 1st order XO.
What is your desired budget? You could take the Dayton B652 and cut the front baffle off the enclosure. Mount the front baffle to the wall and build in an equal size enclosure in the wall. That would make it cheap and OK sounding. If you want to make it better then you could go with the Zaph Audio tweaks for it. Last edited by Einric; 28th November 2012 at 03:04 AM. |

You could try this.
I would call this a 6Ω design with a first order crossover at 4500hz. I have used this tweeter at 4500hz 1st order and it worked very well. Use the same box specifications as before. Last edited by Einric; 28th November 2012 at 03:29 AM. |
