But comparing web prices it seems Beyma drivers cost a lot more in the US than in Europe.

This one costs 140 in the UK.

I just did find a PAudio 10 at one place...never saw it on their website though.

I don't know all of the changes between the two, but the main one is that the Beta has a Qts of .38, the Hawthorne is .68. All of Hawthornes stuff is intended for open baffle use, the higher Q is intended to extend the response in OB.

The tweeter response is quite easy to get flat (if you sacrifice pro SPL capability).

Probably because a 10 inch is a bit too big to reach a tweeter along with the problem that coax speakers just don't work as well as we all want them to. Just my guess.
