With my Intimates speakers, I just hear music; not the tweeters or woofer/mids. Thus, I suspect, they are quite coherent.

Neat! Ignorance is bliss. I've never heard of Intimates.

Visit Parts Express tech talk forum and do a search on Intimates.
The speakers have also been discussed here at DIY audio. Do a search here as well.

We will likely be doing another with the new FF85 which is better (but only goes to 25k), and the SDX7 which is a better midbass.

Shrug. How can we every really know anything? I don't understand the question.

I've heard thousands of speakers of many types, I'm pretty sure I know when they sound disjointed or not. Just in case, I've asked most visitors if they sound like separate parts. Answer is always "No, I don't hear speakers at all". I always like to check.

Not nothing, but perhaps the least important. It does help, tho.
Green Mountian make some little speakers that have sliding parts. You can hear it come together when they are lined up right.
