I'm rescuing a pair of Advent woofers that were badly refoamed. There is excess glue left on the cone edges that I'd like to remove but don't know what they used, it's clear and hard/rigid. And stuck pretty well, can't just scrape it off.

I tried denatured alcohol with minimal success. What else should I try? The cones are paper.

Thanks

Thanks. I do have actual pure acetone and I'm familiar with working with it. It's a powerful solvent and I'm not sure what it might do to the paper cone. I should try it first on a junk cone but I don't have one at the moment. Has anyone used acetone on a paper cone?
