The intended market for the Goodmans Audio Suite was via electrical bulk stores and the product needed to sound and look impressive(to put it kindly), which translates as a lifted bass response and a surplus of speakers.Probably the enclosure would suit a single 8'' speaker vented to tune at 30 to 35 Hz,depending on the model of DIN range 8'' speaker chosen.Hopefully you have the higher flux magnet,(1.35T) which if the roll surround is intact is a good freebie to pick up.

Hi Kermit.
How big is the box? And sealed boxes from Thorn were common (If it is a Thorn) I ask as that looks like the Phillips 1inch tweeter and they were reasonably good. My son picked up something similar that had a 12inch woofer as cheap party speakers and they sounded OK

Goodmans speaker specs

Specs sheet - 2 sides and details of system.
Note: the price for the complete system equates to about 1 month salary in todays money!

Goodmans speaker specs

As for the speakers the crossover units resemble the original English units fitted to the G Magister speakers (and others).

The 8" Bass drivers are made in England but they're not the aluminium housed units

While the specs say they are Goodmans Tweeters the part number (AD 0160/T8) cross references to the widely used Philips units.

I didn't want to disturb the mid-range units because the wires are glued to the mounting board.

The stapled on label has faintly written "515 SL" as the model for the speakers.

If someone can tell me if these components are any good? As far as I can tell they sound great, but they're in a 6m x 5m room with a tiled floor so it's hard to tell.
