The A26RE4 looks very nice. Not sure about using a full ranger. Wouldn't a 'specialist' driver be better over the chosen range?

What are the T/S parameters & size issues to look for in a mid? eg. Some say 10inch is too big

As I've only had experience with FR drivers, what are the requirements for driver integration?

Very interested in the Beta8 though! What a turn up for the books!!! a budget mid being a cracker like that!!

InConcert Miles with subwoofers. A fairly nice home theater setup...?

Beta8 might be abit of a lucky strike from Eminence
and possibly Alpha 6C
might relate to that particular cone kit assembly

I would say thats the right size if you want optimal midrange quality

main advantage over a fullrange could be powerhandling
but if you never play loud...

Thanks again tinitus! you are a font of driver info

Thanks to you & others I've learnt more about T/S parameters and bass drivers in 2 days than I thought possible.

Can I ask? What are the T/S parameters & size issues to look for in a mid? eg. Some say 10inch is too big. Is 8 better and 6 better still? Why?

btw, 18sound ahave a new interesting 8" midbass with ferrite magnet, 8MB500
and the large Xmax means you will never run into problems with that one
I have the neo version, and its very nice, but would rather have this new ferrite version

True, it is not cheap, but worth every penny IMHO. Personally I think it is worth saving up for. What is the use you spend less money for far inferior results. Sometimes you gotta have patience and save up for the really good stuff.

Enjoy,
Deon

I am really happy that you like my InConcert Miles design....

I see that you mentioned the smaller InConcert Duke as well, but in my own opinion it's nowhere near the Miles when it comes to sound quality, bass extension or dynamics.
