hey,
im going to build a small pa system but the drivers im going to use dont have thiele small parameters available. how important are these for pa use when ultimate sound quality isn't the most important factor? thanks |

T/S parameters are what you use to size the boxes and select the proper port alignment. Sealed is more tolerant. Building speakers without the ability to measure is usually not a happy experience. This is engineering.
If you described the drivers, maybe someone will have measured them, or at least some generalizations could be made. |

To measure drivers: Download ARTA: ARTA Your Page Title, Make this simple jig:

Impedance varies with frequency, use impedance plots of your drivers and make crossover calculations using the actual impedance of the driver at the crossover frequency |

iv been looking into the monacor range. There is very little info about them on their own website and when i emaild they sent me same as on website! Usefull. I dont have the earth to spend on speakers but want decent quality.

Well most of the Monacor speakers are rebadged other brands.

You have not even identified which of their speakers you are looking at, nor have you apparently investigated being able to measure the drivers yourself. It's the weekend, get busy. You also might look at their site again, I just looked up their 12 inch PA bass speaker and it has full parameters listed. ( SP12-200 ) MONACOR INTERNATIONAL : Product Detail Page |

i would love to 'get busy' and measure these myself and have looked into how etc. BUT i dont have the equipment hence using this forum. I will post ones been looking at asap
