And don't keep playing them because the foam will fail right next to your repair. I haven't done mine cause I'm not experienced enough yet to take on a driver that does not readily allow for dust cap removal to shim the voice coil. It can be done, they say.

Replacing the foam isn't difficult. The foam surrounds are inexpensive, and the kit will even come with the correct glue.
The hard part is cleaning the old glue off the basket. I glued the cone to the surround first, and then carefully centered the cone while gluing the surround to the metal basket. Done. Works fine.

Can anyone provide a link to somewhere I could order a kit like this? I have no idea where you would buy such a thing retail. There are electronic supply stores where I live. I suppose I could call and ask if they have them.

First make sure to measure your old surrounds and then
you will look for a replacement of similar values. Just for
illustration.
