woofer + tweeter or full range on each channel

I had an odd idea. I have a limited budget but strong urges to experiment. I have some full range drivers but I was thinking of buying a single woofer and a single tweeter and use them on each channel on my Lepai 2020A+ amp to test. And then try the woofer with the full range on the other channel.

Would this still give me an idea what each combination would sound like?
