Speaker workshop run in Win7

Hi,

May I ask if somebody using the speaker workshop run in Windows 7?
I have some problems run it in my new computer. It is running very well in my old XP computer.

In Win7, the sound card check is not passed. And there is also a compatible problem. Some options will shut the software down.

Thank you.

either the compability mode by win7 or maybe a virtualbox like program could help.

you can freely download the vmware player, I use it with great pleasure for my old apps (akabak etc.) Big plus of running it in a virtual machine is that the virtual machine remembers its state so when you close and reopen, everything is there just as you left it.

Yes,

Try running speaker workshop in compatibility mode (xp service pack 3). If your not sure how to do that, just right click on the speaker workshop icon, click on the compatibility tab and set to 'xp service pack 3',
I found I only had to run in compatibility mode once, afterward it would work in normal mode (win7)

As for the sound card check, I could only get mine to pass if I had something plugged into the line-out and the line-in or mic jacks at the time of testing

The only thing that doesn't work is the help files, but I believe there is something you can download from microsoft for that

Yes, volume knob is right.

Set up compatibility mode as xp service pack3 and ONLY plug line-out and line-in, the soundcard checking could be passed and menu options could work right.

Thanks for all.
