Two things, Monitor Audio has a new mini-home theater system that looks absolutely gorgeous called the Radius system. Can anybody tell me if this kind of craftsmanship can be acheived with a veneer or is this definitely real wood? Maybe thin wood over MDF, or something...
Also, word has it that they released a subwoofer at the last minute before their new lines of HT speakers came out and so used a driver from a different manufacturer, specifically on the Radius 8" sub, which loks EXACTLY like a little 20$ Dayton audio driver from parts express, or the paper cone/rubber surround drivers from MCM even. Also their larger ASW 100 looks like a pretty inexpensive driver from pioneer that I have seen around. Both of these units sound great, so I am hoping to discover that they were able to get that sound from less-expensive drivers, if the whole thing is true. Any thoughts? |
