I'm about to mount some Peerless neodymium tweeters. But they are reused from another project and the white paint on one of the connecters indicating polarity is gone. How should I connect the tweeter in order to get default phase?

Thanks for your reply. And yes, you're right, I have solved the problem already. I did not use a 9v cell, though - only a 1.5v, which was enough. Isn't it possible to damage the tweeter this way? I mean, when the battery was connected a scratching sound instantly occured indicating that the tweeter reached it's maximum excursion. That can't be good, or?
