Ambitious first project!
First I'd like to say hi
It's both my first post and thread, but I've been following along for quite some time.
Right, so my first project will be a pair of 3-way 33-34L floorstanders. Luckily I won't have to do much of the difficult work, as the crossover, driver selection and almost all of the calculations have been done. So in reality it's not much of a challenge, except for my carpentry skills.
The project in question is Troels Gravesen's SP44's. Look here
if you'd like to see more. Not what I'd call cheap or ideal for a first construction, but I'm ready to give it a try. Also I have some strings to pull, so I feel confident. I hope I can make them look like these
Also, kudos to Rawin, I think those cabinets look amazing
Now, actually NOTHING has arrived yet and I still need to find someone skilled with veneering, but it'll work out. Just thought I'd start a thread now and update it as things roll along
Everything so far is moving along smooth and things will start to happen in.. Well, one and a half week.. A minor vacation coming up, but I'll use it training on some cheap crossovers, practicing my soldering and running through the actual crossovers with someone who actually knows something about it.
Well, first real update will be a pic of the bass drivers on Friday
