has anyone ever done this or would it be possible. if i decide to do this i had thought about making a convex top and bottom, so there is no flat spaces at all inthe tube. building my flat baffles out of MDF and fiberglassing them to the tube. i figure should be a very sound eclosure, but i may be wrong. any help would be appreciated

I can't offer you any advice, but this guy...

I'm not sure what you mean by fiberglassing. Is that how you intent to eliminate the air spaces between the MDF and the tube or just as an adhesive?

You should take a peak at Aaron Gilbert's Emerald Towers. Made from Cubicorn tubes and covered with green velvet, hence the name. Sounded pretty good too.

I probably misunderstood. I was assuming you were putting the sonotube inside an MDF enclosure. Creating an elliptical interior is a worthwhile goal. To eliminate the parallel surfaces of the top and bottom just put a sand filled sock in the bottom and tie it down with a zip tie to an eye screw.

i just plan to use the fiberglass to secure and close the gaps from the mdf to the sonotube. i do not plan to crush the tube at all. i have seen someones line array where they crused part of the tube to make it flat. i dont really want to do that, i would just prefer to keep everything round. only reason for me choosing sonotube is cause i can get it locally, dont want to pay the herendous expense of shipping Cubicon
