Default 2x15's horizontal upper limit ?

I am height restricted in my mutli-way system; along with that I feel the need for 2x15" drivers for mid-bass. The absolute lowest limit for my mid-range horn that physically goes above the mid-bass is 400Hz. Right now I am @ 500Hz, but would like to include as much vocal info coming from the mid-range. 500Hz has a wavelength of approx 2 feet, so 400Hz would be even larger. Should I feel safe running two 15's side by side with out any lobing/ phasing issues ?
I plan on some kind of wave guided mid-bass, so perhaps even a small physical divider between the two drivers would help (?)

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.
