Default Looking for beta testers : VST plugin - bass correction for vented box

I have been looking at this forum from time to time and this is now my first post (feeling like a big dive !)
Some years ago I built a pair of Proac 2.5 clone and since that period I enjoyed learning loudspeaker & enclosure theory.
Even if I am found of analogue sound I see a good opportuniy of using computer as new degree of freedom to simplify loudspeaker enclosure design.
This is why I have developed a VST plugin to make active bass correction of vented boxes. The idea is not to take the environment into consideration but just the loudspeaker and its enclosure.

I have made some testing with my 2.5 clones and found good benefits (make them less boomy with better bass control)
I am now looking for some testers to confirm this tool could be useful & further developed.
As the correction algorithm is specific to each configuration some input data are required.

Here is a list of minimum requirements if you'd like to make a test:
- Computer with a media player compatible with VST plugins (like Foobar2000 or JRiver)
- Low range driver box configuration: Internal volume / Port(s) description (diameter / lenght / number) / Stuffing density evaluation (0 to 100%)
- Low range driver Thiele/Small parameters = Qts, Fs, Vas

Optional (and ideal): same as above + impedance curve of the low range driver (when set in the enclosure) and additional loudspeaker parameters = Re / Bl / Sd

Of course if you have 2.5 clones you only need the computer & one VST compatible media player.
I you are interested please send me an email with relevant data at fresponse@free.fr
Thanks for your help,

Hello again,

I add some information for whom who may be interested:

This plugin is based on the old idea of loudspeakers open loop control like for instance the 6th orders alignment initially proposed by Thiele.

The advantage using computer & plugin is that all kind of alignments can be easily achieved

The transfer function of the loudspeaker to be corrected is based on the classic Smalls model including different losses (port, internal damping, leaks)

For instance here are the compared transfer functions of my 2.5 clones and a classic 4th order Butterworth (with -3db at 20Hz)

Click the image to open in full size.

and the correction that will be applied to the input signal to reach this Butterworth alignment

Click the image to open in full size.

Finally here is snapshot of the very simple plugin control panel

Click the image to open in full size.

Gain = to lower input level if corrected signal is bringing clipping
Type = choose one of the pre programmed alignment (Butterworth, Bessel, Chebychev with 0.1 to 3dB ripples)
Freq = targeted -3dB cut off frequency

Don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like to make a try with your own loudspeakers
