It might be worth running the signal through a spectrum analyzer to see what exact frequencies you are encountering. Lots of windows programs can do this. You shouldnt have any subsonic frequencies from a CD source typically. Or, your subsonic filter is reaching up into audible frequencies (20-40hz maybe) which it shouldnt.

Ever played the CD version of dark side of the moon ? I don't know about the original vinyl version but the CD version has significant subsonic rumble in some of the tracks, enough to cause smaller speakers some grief. I doubt it's there on purpose though

Just for giggles I doubled the number of screws in the removable rear panel (now 26) and added Rope Caulk to the tweeter & woofer flanges on one speaker only.

The modified speaker is SIGNIFICANTLY tighter and cleaner sounding now.
I did know that there was a small leak around that speaker's tweeter I could feel at about 50Wrms.
If I put my face to the tweeter I could feel air coming out from the perimeter on my lips and nose.

If there was one gripe I have about the DC28F it is the plastic flange with only 3 screws.

The other one doesn't seem to have this problem.
I think I will add the Rope Caulk and extra screws to that one also.

Bingo. Use these puppies with a sub crossed over at 60 or so and you will be very happy. Darn decent little driver for the money, even if it is metal. 80 is even better. This goes for ANY small driver. You just can't push the air with something that small. This is why woofers are 10 or 12 inches. Even an 8 is only good stand alone to 45 or so. More than sufficient for a bookshelf. Not for "realistic" music.

TVR...Exactly, I couldn't agree more.
I am looking at building a floor standing 3-Way similar to the ZDT3.5 with the RS100 as midrange instead of the RS52 dome.
This way I can double up a pair of RS108S-8's for more suitable low end stereo listening.
I have a supplier for a pair of 15x13x2" granite slabs for a couple of 6-Packs.
They are the cutouts for sinks that usually get thrown away.
The reason I chose the RS100 is because I already have them.
I have always looked at the ND20 for a 3-Way because it reaches into the super tweeter range for a low cost.
I have a buddy with a single RS180S-8 in a 3-Way and he loves it once he ported the enclosure.

i must say you built those quick, i havent even started mine, im still gathering tools and resorces.

i still dont understand, if you crossed them at 100hz, with a sub for low bass, i dont see how they could have been moving much at all, even at higher volumes

in my first reply, i thought you where running then full range.

also im sure in your construction thread you had a woofer mounted inside each box.. maybe i dreampt it

Blu-ray into older amp?

Blu-ray, perhaps with analogue hook up through multi channel?
Speakers perhaps set to fullrange in the players own menu?

If you are using multi channel inputs on the amp this setup will typically ignore the crossover settings on your AV amplifier which are designed just for the digital inputs.
