and to think compared with the new dolby "Atmos" he's already outdated
My Observations -
Wasted money - he's bought a lot of things that don't improve sound quality and -
Overbuilt - the system can reach levels higher than "live" - at least in terms of unamplified live, i.e., a symphony orchestra can reach 110 dB - I don't need to hear a recording at higher than that.
Also one could argue the set-up/placement of speakers is not optimal, and there appears to be no room treatment etc.

FFS...30 MAC tube amps? Do you realize the heat generated in that room...and the cooling bill must be high up there also.
Dude probably never sees the bills - has one of his accountants do all that!
Retraction
I found a reference to the room - it is thoroughly designed and built acoustically, including room/wall treatments.

For that amount of money, he could go to the actual concerts the rest of his life and experience it LIVE
Yowza, I'm buying a lottery ticket!
He definitely has BIG speakers. And LOTS of them.
Whatts?
Well, at least I can beat him on power, my humble stereo can deliver 16.000 watt.
But then something like that isn't difficult with pro audio gear. ;-)
Edit: Darn, the official site claimed 96.000 watts instead of the 11.000 claimed on the article... :-/

The Snell LCR 2800 is one of my designs. The older Reference towers were good but our XA Reference was a good bit better.

Looks like a good system but built more for show than for go. Over the top.
