Hi eveyone,
I'm having a bit of an experiment. I currently have some fugel horns with fostex fe126en drivers. I want to boost the bass a bit, not a lot, I live in flats and swmbo won't allow wall shakers so I want to use some Monacor drivers that I have. Monacor SPH-135C Now, you'll probably say I won't get as good results as I could but this is a learning exercise too so I'm happy to compromise but, I'd like to build a two way bass reflex sized box, one that can eventually take a tweeter as I evetually want to build some two way speakers too and have a play with those. Another reason for this is that I have some gorgeous oak speaker stands which are sulking and I want to put them back into use too. So, what kind/style of cabinet could I use, capacity, approx dimensions etc? Also, crossovers? |

I should add, if the bass reflex idea is real no go I did consider building the Rogers AB1 bass extender style enclosures used with the BBC ls3/5a speakers, god/bad idea?

a box around 16 L tuned to 40-42 hz should suit these drivers;
however they are ~5dB less sensitive than the FE126's, either bi-amp or use 2 monacors per side You may find this thread useful: Help! Monacor sph 135C xover
