Default Vent location on cabinet

What is the best location for a vent tube on a cabinet? Front? Back? Near the woofer? Away from the woofer????

In the back away from the woofer. Usually the speakers will be some distance away from the wall so it won't affect the vent.

I agree with stoc. I have a pair of minimonitors and I tried placing the vents both in the front of the speaker cabinet a couple of inches below the midranges, and in back of the cabinet at the bottom away from the midranges, and I could definitely hear some of the midranges' frequencies coming through the vents when they were located in the front of the speaker.
