what sonic penalties is there when using at smaller enclosure than "optimal"?

winisd beta gives me the flattest responce with 38L/1,36 cf and boxtuning of 65hz which provides me with -3db at 67hz.

if the sonic penalties isnt big i'd like to go with 25L/0,9 cf and a tuning of 69hz which in winisd beta would give me a -3dn at 80hz.
the response isnt totally flat, it has a "lump" of 0,5db centered at 140hz.
But it still provides me with enoughf lowend extension for my sat/sub project.

higher f3
does a small 0,5db lump hurt bad in practice?
other disadvantages?

best regards

Hi,

Just tune the 25L box to 60Hz if the bump bothers you.

A small correction (lower Q) of the high pass filter
could remove the bump of the 70Hz port tuning.

With a high pass filter dominating the response in
this area (assuming its 2nd order L/R -6dB @80Hz)
HT, TBH a mild 1dB bump isn't going to mean a lot.
