I actually had these speakers in parallel with another set and a powered sub on the same amp. I had originally measured both paralleled sets and one measured only 1.3 ohms and that got me a little worried about my amp as I was on the 4 Ohm taps (though now I see that DC resistance isn't the proper way to measure).

I'm fooling with the woofer now and I can get a resistance reading on the wires from the speakers tabs into the cone, but not on the tabs themselves so it looks like a simple solder fix. *fingers crossed*

Use a heat sink (like an alligator clip or hemostat) to keep solder from wicking in to the tinsel leads.

Most speakers impedance actually drops pretty close to DC resistance at some point in the curve, figure the DC resistance to be safe as far as your amp.

Hi,

What model are the speakers ?

On a 4 ohm tap they shouldn't be used in parallel with anything else,
nevermind something that measures 1.3R, is that both parallel ?

rgds, sreten.
