Default wharfdale diamond iv / active crossover

I have a pair of Wharfdale Diamond IV speaker that are damaged (I blew a tweeter on one of the speakers). I was on the part express forum, and unless I can get an exact tweeter, just dropping in a replacement won't necessarily work.

I was thinking about removing the passive crossovers, and replacing the tweeters in the Wharfdale Diamond IV and bi-wiring the speakers in the cabinets.

I should then be able to use a 2 way active crossover to drive these pair of speakers.

I'd use a pair of T-amps and a link-witz active cross over.

Is that possible, or should I just junk the speakers.

Posible and could improve the sound quality if done right. Select a tweeter that can go at least as low as the current one. Better to use a DSP based crossover for steeper slopes. You don't need matching amplifiers so you could use your existing amplifier and new one for the tweeters. Class D amplifiers seem flawed to me in most implementations I would avoid them.

Thanks for the reply. I was either going to scrap these speakers, or wait for a speaker trade in event.

I've heard some good things about the minidsp, and at $99 seems like a good value.

Good idea
Do You know the crossover frequency and sensitivity of drivers?

I have implemented an active system with diamond 10.4 (2.5 way) but i wasnt satisfied how they sound.

I'm not sure. I tried googling the specs of the speakers, but couldn't find anything.

I e-mailed Warfhedale, they sent me all data for diamond 10.4, sensitivity of each driver, slopes, and crossover frequencies.
