Default Altering cabinet dimensions.

While building my T4 amp and modifying it with Jantzen Superior Z caps, I'm rebuilding my vintage Klipsch KG 4.2's. I ordered the Titanium domes at Bob Crites and the crossover caps too. The internal speaker wires are upgraded too in the whole prices. But I have a question cause I'd like to paint the cabinets piano white. Is it possible and easier to build new sleeker cabinets, cause they appeared to be pretty straightforward. No labyrinth or whatsoever. If I keep the volume exact the same will it alter the sound?

Yes it will sound different but it will sound better because you made them with your own hands.

A narrower baffle width will raise the F3 point of baffle step loss. Whether or not you will be able to hear the difference is debatable. Once you make the change, no side-by-side can be performed, and the mind/ears aren't very good at picking out small differences like this unless there is a reference to work with at the time.

Baffle width should not appreciably effect the horn loaded part of the system since the directivity more or less eliminates baffle diffraction.

Unless he pulls and installs the drivers in only one cabinet to start.
