Nothing special about the drill - just the engle that the drill was used at.
Simplest way is to make yourself a drill guide from a block of wood. Start by making a small indentation with a bradol or a small screwdriver to stop the bit slipping and then gradually go up in drill sizes until you get the size that you want. Wrap tape around the drill bit so you dont go too far. |

Yes there are diy versions, trust me, dont bother with them. I am familiar with both the General and Kreg pocket hole jigs, just buy the Kreg and be done.
