Default Open baffle issues???

I'm considering an open baffle project and am trying to sort out a few things. I've read numerous accounts of active equalization vs passive, complications with matching the levels of the mids/tweets and the woofers, baffle width, quarter waves, dipole null, etc, etc.....

I'm considering a 'beginner' project. I'd like to start by taking the drivers from a pair of JBL HLS-610 or boston vr-940 and mounting them on a baffle (probably 20"w x 38"h) and then I'd like to blend them in with an Eminence Alpha 15. I intend to Bi-amp.

Has anyone tried this? I can't easily find the T-S parameters of the 'donor' drivers, so i'm really taking a shot in the dark. I know the baffle widths of the donor cabinets are much less than 20" and I'm guessing the donor crossovers are simple 12db/octave crossovers. What are the major problems with this approach?

You need to be able to measure anyway, so no problems at all. It don't have to be expensive. This is a full calibrated system for 148 €

- I think you have to multply with 1,3 to have it in USD but no quite sure.

Or you can download Holm Impulse for free
HOLM Acoustics

And use a cheap selfmad mic based on panasonic WM61 capsule
Home Theater - Image Gallery - Panasonic Microphone wand

Then you are ready for less than 20 USD.

OB produces a dipole in ambient emission ( sound propagation ).
So that's , I think , the main feature .
The back wave of the speaker / system is not controlled / attenuated by the cabinet ,but by the room .
