Default Drivers In Series

OK, I see everywhere that two drivers in parallel will net 3db gain.
What about series connection?
Do you get the same 3db because you are doubling the radiating area?

2 drivers will always have 3dB of sensativity gain over a single driver when compared with equal input wattage regardless of how they are wired. The difference is that, when they are wired in series, it will take twice the voltage to reach the same wattage as it will if they are wired in parallel.

With equal voltage input, wiring in series will result in a 3db sensitivity gain and a 3dB power loss compared with a single driver, resulting in no change in output with half the power consumption.

With equal voltage input, wiring in parallel will result in a 3dB sensitivity gain and a 3dB power gain compared to a single driver, resulting in a 6dB increase in output with twice the power consumption.
