Yes, very familar with them. Bass, no, pounding mid-bass, yes. Normally either a 515 cinema or 421 MI series driver.

When I was involved with PA systems and concert sound in the beginning we used many A2 cabinets with the wings attached. But truth be told that we used JBL 2215 drivers with Altec 1.4" compression drivers. Things changes when smaller cabinets from the likes of Eastern Acoustic Works came along and we no longer had to move those big behemoths.
I have 8 unfinished throat sections for double 18" bass horns that I could easily make into an RCA type radial bass horns. I think that would be about as good as you could get on the bottom end. One of these days I will finish them. I have sold others that had a more traditional straight exponential flares without being radial, but I always like the radial design the best when you can take the time to do it right.
