Default jbl 2226 h vs hpl.

i couldn`t find parameters for hpl.
are they the same speaker with h?

Yes they are the same driver. The HPL doesn't have the 2226 metal decal nameplate on the back. Just uses a white stencil marking.

Default issues with 2226

HI

Over a period quite a few 2226 has been opened up by us - demagnetizing the motor and opening of top & bottom plates (for mods) , these have been noticed -

1) the magnetic flux gauss is way below the printed figure
2) there have been issues with suspension linearity to printed figures
3) some of the top plates were not tightly machined and the magnetic gap was large - leading to vc heat & compression

good things

1) the cone does not tears it self out like p audio or other copies
2) the tonal quality
3) when multiple drivers are used - sound dinstinct

i found out that the hpl is in the speakers and the h is a standalone driver

but they are the same.

Correct, one is the OEM driver without the pretty label and rubber cover arround the magnet and the other is the retail driver. I have a mixture and they measure the same as far as t/s parameters and take the same recones.
