Question Banana Plugs or direct ? + Poll

Simple question, do you think connecting your speakers to the amp via banana plugs is better than wiring them in direct? I can understand them for convenience but I can’t understand how passing those first through something can be better than directly wiring them to the speaker poles.

If you desire a quick change, banana plugs provide that.
More than a few changes of bare stranded wire usually ends up with needing to clean up the wire.

If you want the least resistance, eliminating the banana plug will accomplish that, though depending on the surface area of the binding post, and materials, the banana could actually have less resistance.

A decent clean banana plug will generally have only a tiny fraction of the resistance of the speaker cable used, so the difference between using one or not is generally inaudible, putting the difference down to convenience.

I have amp racks with both hard wired connections and banana plugs, each appropriate for the usage.
