Default Allison speakers

I 've noticed that Allison's speakers are much regarded in Vintage market.
I don't know much about those speaker and why are still sought after .
What was so special in those speakers ?
Did anyone follow the Allison school ?
Can anyone mention if it is possible to find something alike those speakers in the Hi fi market today?

Not to guide you away from our fine board, but take a look here. They cater to all brands of New England speakers.

After Allison, Roy also founded RDL. In newer speakers the NHT line followed some of the same design principals.

His innovative tweeter designs and his consideration of how woofers are affected by room position were pioneering. Once I heard what bass sounded like with the frequency response notches out, I never went back.
