Default Materials For Multiway - Wood vs Fiberglass

I'm curious the advantages/disadvantages of using wood vs fiberglass for box construction.

I am designing pods for a 9.1 home theater that need to have 8 sides (6 + top and bottom) and also tilted down.
The pods will be very similar to Troles TJL3W including a 7", 4.5" and a tweeter.

So is there any disadvantage to using fiberglass vs wood?

I have used MDF, Marine grade ply, FRP (resin bonded fiberlgass), and aluminum.

The later 2 resonate and while they are stiff they are not well damped. Somehow wood has a natural damped feel. I have not tried carbon fiber.

Currently I believe that a sandwich of 3 layers of 6mm marine grade ply along with 2 layers of FRP offers a good balance between thickness, stiffness and damping.

Options:
You can replace the inner layer of marine ply with MDF
You can add a layer of 1.5mm lead sheet inside the cabinet (this adds mass and lowers the resonance frequency of the cabinet) A typlical floor standing speaker (1.2m x 30cm x 40cm) will be 40kgs heavier just due to the lead sheet.
