Hi all, I've recently scored these and have just changed the crossovers to 1'st order jobby's using poly caps and aircore inductors. I've also rewired them and lined the cabinets. I'm very very impressed with the sound. So much so that I'm now thinking about a new larger cabinet or open baffles. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Craig.

Just a follow on...
I've also made a quasi aperiodic mod to the rear panels which has been an improvement. I'm driving these with a wee Scythe T amp/ FM Tuner/ iPod. On well recorded simple music these speakers are quite stunning! However more complex stuff gets them a bit muddled. I'm wondering is this due to the small cabinet size. A member on another forum has been very helpful and suggested that these may not be well suited to open baffle. The CB4 tweeter on these has truly floored me with its performance. I'd like to keep the two drivers together. I'll get some more pics up as soon as I can. Craig. |

Some pics of my progress.
The (quasi) Aperiodic vent seems to have added some air to the sound and I may enlarge it still. The X/overs are 1st order with a poly cap and Air Core inductor. Cross over is 6kHtz. Re Wired with Monster CX2. The lining is now stapled to the walls rather than being rolled up and stuffed in there. And unfortunately my wife isn't as enthusiastic about the aesthetics as I am so back out to the garage they go. I did run them off my main system inside and they were much better with rock music so I'm pretty stoked with them now. I'll probably leave them in the original cabinets and store them until we have a house with a decent man cave. Then I'll find a decent valve amp and a good vintage turntable to complete the picture... ![]() Craig. |

G'day Craig
Nice speakers I built a pair of TQWT, with a baffle, using cg8t, sound great, except they lose a bit of bass, so I built a sub using kef b139. There worth experimenting on and you can always block off a baffle. |

RA quoted a Qt of 0.536 and a VAS of 2.63 cubic feet for the CG10 if that's any help.
