Default Who Has Actually Built/Heard A DTQWT Or An TQWT

I am curious if anyone actually built or heard the DTQWT or a TQWT? I read a few threads on here with people kicking around the idea but no reviews except a quote from the guy that made them.

I heard MJK's own TQWT that used a Fostex driver at the time (iirc) and was quite impressed with the presentation of the bass and the overall sound. Of course the total SPL and the HF is limited by the small Fostex driver, but with small ensemble pieces like jazz or chamber music it was quite nice, better than one might expect. Quite refined. Stand-up bass was rather exceptionally good as I recall.

How does that stack up against some other methods and other systems?
That depends on your personal tastes, needs and budget, also the footprint you are willing to have in ur space. The max SPL will depend on the driver and amp power.

Hope that helps in some way.

I built mine at B's suggestion and I love them, especially at low levels, where I'd lose definition on my old BR subs, these just...breathe...

TQWT is Tapered quarter wave tube, or T-TQWT is taped, tapered quarter wave tube. I've seen it called Voight Pipe as well.

You might be correct, I have dyslexia when it comes to acronyms sometimes and I didn't check.

I'm pretty sure the OP is asking about Troels Gravesens' designs.

DTQWT-mkII

TQWT-

Apologies if I got that wrong.

I can't say that I've heard Troels speakers themselves, but the design is sound and has it's merits. I'm sure Troels are every bit what he describes them to be.
