Hello all.
Blew a QLS-1 woofer tonight (Damn 1812 Overture) - foam is good (redid it myself a few years back), coils have the proper resistance, but the cone now grinds as the coil moves in and out of the magnet. My question is, Does anyone know of a place that can fix this speaker correctly? It's a Watkins dual voice coil unit, it's rated at 500w RMS, and I run it off of a dedicated Adcom GFA-565 in a bi-amp system, so I want to be sure it's fixed right. I seem to recall Orange County Speaker saying that they could fix these several years ago, but it's hard to remember clearly now, and I've never used their service before. Thanks for any information you can give me! - Eric |
