Default My latest 2-Way speakers

Hey all,
Just finished a pair of 2-ways using a Dayton Audio RS225-4 8" and an Event tweeter out of the 20/20 series. Crossed at 1.5k. They sound great in my place but I brought them to a buddy's house and felt they were a bit boxy. I'll have to do some tweakin.

Ported, sealed? Is that wood or some other material? Sometime a layer of self leveling silicone RTV 118 works well on "plastic" cones. [easy to remove if you don't like it.]

Default small triangles

I don't know if this ploy even works or not; but I make the smaller cabinets "triangles" to avoid echo/refection. These small triangles are really old, and lived outside for a while, but have been a workhorse around here.

Not my idea, I picked up a lot of principles from a local speaker manufacture.

If I had to rebuild these BR boxes, I'd probably go just a few degrees less on the angles. They have always sounded nice and clear (bass below 40hz). I made 15 pairs (30). I was able to recover 6 of them.

Sealed... 3/4" MDF. It's Rustoleum American Accents Stone paint... comes in a few colors. 1 can does a cabinet. RustOleum.com

OK. I guess you should do some measurements on them to find out why you don't like the way they sound.

A couple of ideas:

Line the box with Dynamat.

Maybe cut some thick foam pieces with angles; insert them back behind the woofer.
