Okay so before anyone starts to yell at me for bringing up satellite speakers--here is the story. After a friend saw my proper home theater system he decided to upgrade, and gave me his old HTIB as a present for enlightening him. I would like to put the HTIB in my bedroom where space is limited; the system is just a cheap Awia system. I would like to upgrade the crappy speakers it comes with, but still need something SMALL and seeing that the system is worth $200 tops I don't want to spend a lot of money on the upgrade. Suggestions?

There will always be naysayers, but if you don't want to build anything and have a very small budget, my pick would almost always be Cambridge Sound Works. They've always been better sounding than anything up to double or even triple their price

I once put a PC Works sub/sat in my small pick-up truck. More than one friend commented that it sounded better than the stock 6 speaker system in their cars. Less loud, but more clarity.

:)ensen.

Bad pun thats been brewing in me for a long time:

How about a couple of these in sealed boxes at 12 US bucks a pop? http://www.tb-speaker.com/detail/tweeter/w3-319sc.asp

Any one remember Wang Chung? (The band and name same sake song, not John Kings NYC recording studio)

Every one have fun tonight,
Every one Tang Band Tonight.

-Sorry.

I do agree that the TB looks intriguing for computer and little satellite configurations.

Keep the ideas comeing! Remember our goal (making speakers that are crappy by most standards, but are noticably better then what came with a $200 HTIB system!)--The tbs do look intresting (mag shielded an everthing!). I am woundering also about a cheap 2-way config for the mains. Maybe just a full-range with a cheap tweater.

Sat. Speakers

Try looking up the Dai-1Chi 40Watt 8Ohm Dual Cones. Just mount them in a small box and they fit anywhere. Great for a bedroom. They cost about A$14.00 each and are tremendous value for money. You will need a Sub though. Car Dual Cones work too but not as well as the Dai-1Chi.
