Default Rectangular waveguides - what are they really?

I came across the Beyma WL-5:

and the BMS 4510ND

I realize these are designed for stage line arrays, but with such coverage at the various angles, wouldn't these make great home drivers?

If so, they all refer to 4"x1" waveguides or horns. What are such beasts? I have not been able to find an example. Are they simply 90 degree boards used as waveguides?

The waveguides for these devices are usually custom and part of the actual enclosure with the Mid range divers built into the side walls of the waveguide. I don;t know of any one who sells just the waveguides.

... it is not a complete horn,
Here is the horn mouth part, Beyma TD-WL4 that receives a pair of WL-4 necked compression drivers. The WL3 and WL5 are parts for similar arrangements

Cannot find this on the Beyma web site.

Impressive graphs on the TD-WL5. Even the distortion is down -25dB (H2) and -45dB(H3) at 110dB. Of course that's two drivers on the horn.

If you have an example in a photo, I'd love to get an idea of how these are used.

They tend to be used like this: MILO
Click the image to open in full size.
They will be stacked a few units high. You can see why they have a narrow vertical pattern.
I don't know what drivers are used in the MILO, though.
