Thank you all for your replies and advice. And sorry for the double post. The speakers are for a bedroom with 10' x 12' x 8' heigh. So it would be nice if I could make it as small as possible without compromising the sound quality and do not have to use a subwoofer.
I've been looking into the HiVi F8 8" and Dayton Audio RS225-8 8" for woofers. I was being offered a pair of Peerless 830491 for $120 but I don't know much about them. If anyone could advice me on those Peerless, I would appreciate it. As for midranges, maybe Dayton Audio RS52AN-8 2" Dome Midrange or HiVi F5. As for highs, it would be Dayton Audio ND16FA-6 or ND20FB. |

That bedroom is bigger than my loungeroom and I use dual 15's plus dual 12's in that, my MIDS are 8inch LOL

Your option of the HiVi F5, that looks like a great driver from looks, as a mid, is that it's not a ruler flat frequency response driver, maybe because it should not be used as such, after 800Hz. Overview of F5 Drivers_HiVi,Inc Anyway, people say that they are impressed with this driver in/for 2-Ways. HiVi F5 5" Bass/Midrange 297-435 |

When I was a beginner I took Rabbitz advice and built a 2.5 way just taking some of the bass from the main driver improves the sound of the midrange and is a lot easier to implement, that is one other option to look at
