Default crossover for a ribbon tweeter

hey guys, i got a pair of dali hybrid tweeter from the internet lately but suddenly found a problem on how to do a crossover for the ribbon can any of you guy can tell me how to do it?

shall i do the same type of x-over like i did for domes? many thanks for reading

The crossover design will depend largely on where you select the crossover point to be. The dali example at the link has a 1 uF cap in series which indicates a very high xover point - perhaps in the range of 10 khz or so to add air to the soundstage

Low crossover points in the 1K to 5 kHz range will require higher order slopes to protect the delicate ribbon element. 4th order slopes for ~2 kHz xover in two way designs are not uncommon.

a small series cap is all you need
and most likely also a series resistor

just change values until it sounds right
my best bet is that it will sounds best when you barely hear any sound from ribbon
its best job is to control phase

I've found that ribbons seem to like 5K and up. Below that, I've not found one that sounds "natural" - whatever that means.

got it, thank ya all pals

i saw the impedence curves for both dome and ribbon, the resonances are about 1300Hz and 5k.
