Folks,
I am revamping my Wilson Watt Puppy 5.1 speakers and after replacing the velcro/foam on the front of the speaker, I am having the woofers re-foamed. While this is all open, I was thinking about replacing the wires inside and the rear connectors for better ones that I already have. Now, for the wires, what would you use as I have little experience in that domain? Thanks Yves |

I like coax speaker cable, but Sommer is almost impossible to find on this side of the pond. You might want to try RG8X for kicks & grins; the stuff is 16 gauge and not overly expensive to boot.

It would however, lower the re-sale price if they have been modified. |

I am only thinking about re-wiring the Puppy(es), the woofers boxes. The Watt will remain untouched.
I have no intention to resell them and thus do not care about keeping them pristine and original. I am also changing the suspension of the woofers, otherwise they would no longer function correctly. Thus, it will be quite a few things which will not be exactly as they were when they left the factory 15 years ago. Yves |

I found this one:
Vampire Wire - #SC-554 ![]() Anybody has some experiences with this cable? I have used Vampire connectors for more than a decade on multiple products and have been very happy. Yves |

Whatever makes you happy, if the wire in question is the same or a bit larger gauge then it can't do any harm, then again if the wire already in the speaker isn't damaged or too small a gauge, the benefits are purely your peace of mind. I second the suggestion of using the money on acoustic room treatments if necessary.

The first thing those wires will do is go into an inductor - a coil of thin wire several meters long. You wont notice any difference.
