Is there a way to wire up 3 8ohm woofers so they come out at a fairly normal resistance ( 4, or 8)?

Do you know what I'd get if I ran 2 in series, then paralleled them with one more? (saying that all 3 are 8 ohm) And, would the resulting odd resistance mess up my amp?

Yes, you would have more sound coming from the one than the other two. Not such a good idea unless you want to run them as a 2.5 system.

You'd get 1 woofer working a lot harder than the other 2.
I'd suggest using just 2 woofers, or using 3 amps, or using 3 in a subsystem that is a 2-way, 2 woofers below the bafflestep, 1 above. dave

That'd be 8 // 16 = 5.333 Ohm
But, for woofers (in passive xover), it is not a good solution. Why not use 2 per side, and save 2 for center sub? |

I am in the same boat only mine are 4 ohm so I have only 1.33 ohms or 12ohms to choose from or take a loss of almost 2db and go with 2 woofers per cabinet.

Hmm, boxes often have 6 sides, why not all in one box with a plate amp?

I have dual 10s in my current ones, and I use a very old SAE amplifier with only 2 outputs. It's a very 70s setup, but I love the bass and the power of it. You know how the greedy mind gets " if dual 10s are good, 3 might be even better!"
