Default SS 12MU/8731T00 v. AT C-Quenze 15 H 52 12 06 SDKM

Any opinions on these two drivers, and which one would be “better” choice for DSP controlled active 3-way speakers?
I could not find much on SS, not popular or new?

I've used both and both are superb drivers. I wouldnt consider either "better" than the other, more a matter of your specific needs and preferences.
Crossover points may be the deciding factor.

The SS12MU is a true midrange (4") - foam surround, aerodynamic neodymium motor, excellent detail from the light cone throughout the midrange, but which struggles below about 200Hz.

The AT15h (5 1/2") is a bass-mid which is very neutral and can go below 100Hz, but which struggles above 3-4kHz and gives up some of the upper-mid detail.

Thanks David,
On the off chance that you may have had some exposure to ATC, what would be your thoughts on ATC sm75-150 versa SS12MU, would SS12MU be capable of comparably open, dynamic and detailed sound?

The AT15h will not go below 100Hz. Sashav is talking about the dedicated midrange:

Franco, yes you're right. I was thinking about the 15h5206sdk.

Sashav, sorry I havent had an exposure to the ATC. In my experience with domes, they tend have a little more low-level detail and transparency but lose out on dynamics and usable bandwidth.
