I need help with passive crossover. This is my third build (I am a 'hands on' learner) and I guess you would call it a line source build. I got an 8" 6ohm woofer (I don't know the manufacturer - buyout from PE), 8 Aura NS35-255-4A full ranges and 1 Pyramid horn tweeter (per speaker). Based on the information that I have, I was
considering a crossover of 500hz and 6-7khz to the tweeter. I was planning to do a 12 DB crossover for woofer to full ranges and then a 6DB to the tweeter. My concerns are as follows; the woofer is 6ohm and I am planning to run the full ranges (2x4 serial) as 8ohm. How do I deal with the 6ohm woofer? Also do I need a zobel network? ..... I have more questions.... just trying to start the process.... |

Have a read of this thread, it's a good introduction to crossover design.
