Default Planning a 5.1 system. Need some input.

My head is spinning from all the info on this site!

I would like to build a 5.1 system with towers for the front, and small bookshelf size for rear (of course center and sub as well). This system will be used mostly for a home theater system. Once in a while listen to music at low volumes. I don't have the receiver or amp yet so I will build/buy whatever I need.

I was thinking to probably make em out 3/4" MDF and just paint em black so I don't have to shell out a lot cash for good wood. I do have a bit of wood working experience and have built a sealed enclosure for my car.

So here's the question... Could I get a good performing setup while spending around $200.00 for drivers? I saw some plans somewhere on this site but I can't seem to find em anymore.

Any suggestions on reputable online stores to get drivers and crossovers?

...for a minimum of 11 drivers.

Madisound has a number of small Aurasound drivers that would fit your budget. With some of the ones they're blowing out, you could even do mini-arrays with the tower speakers and stay under $200 for drivers.
