I was just given a pair of Tannoy Series 1000's from work when we redid one of our Audio Control Rooms. Any opinions on them? I'm going to use them with my KT-88 SE amp as they are 94Db/W.

M1000 or System 1000?
Either way Tannoys tend to prefer amps able to deliver lots of current. It doesn't matter that much if the amp is a valve or transistor job. Even the 215DMTs which are 101dB/1w only really start to sing when driven by a high-current amp. If they are System 1000 you could eventually run them active with a valve amp for treble and a large transistor amp of any type for bass. a simple 24dB L-R xover at 1.4kHz would do. |

They are System 1000s that are bi-amp capable. I've just got them running with my KT-88 SE amps and they sound amoazing! I might go to bi-amp with the KT-88 on the bottom and EL84 SET on the top. We'll see!
