I know this sounds a totally noob question, but I知 trying to work out what size drives and what type to use in a active desktop system. I知 looking at intergrading the speakers with the miniDSP amp (20w) , I don稚 really want them the size of book shelf types, but I do want some good quality sound. Maybe I知 asking to much? How fast does the sound quality drop under a certain size of drives? And what would anyone recommend. Would full range be better than separates ?

Maybe something like these would be the right size:
