Hegeman Model 1's

Anyone heard of Hegeman Model 1's?
They have upward facing drivers and dome reflectors to provide an OMNI sound.
And the woofers were 1/4 wave loaded.

I'm looking to DIY the concept.

We sold a couple pair of those in my hifi sales days. I did get my head in a pair. A nice loudspeaker.

Do you think it is worth DIY?
Compared to the ease of making acoustic suspension and bass reflex speakers?

Ir is essentialy a sealed box with a bunch of small resonance tubes. There was an article in the last while in aXp on the technique.

I don't have access to the article but should be simply a matter of determining the tube lengths with some absoptive material to adjust the Q.
Similar to a transmission line speaker but with closed ends.

It also has a hemispherical reflector for each speaker cone which should make it an OMNI.
