Default Seas MP14RCY and Scanspeak D2905/9000 questions

Hi.

I'm thinking about making a speaker made of the D2905/9000 tweeter and MP14RCY mid range speaker, but I have some questions about the crossover frequencies and network solutions.

Which crossover frequencies should make the network of.

I'm grateful for any advice..

Hi,

I tend to cut such floppy PP membranes as low as the tweeter can handle as to avoid uneven power response; so in your case probably between 1.5 and 2.5kHz depending on the filter order.

power handling depending on the high-pass slope and fr.

Examples:
1.7 liter / closed heavy fill / Qtc 0.56 / F3 169Hz / F1 350hz

if you need some more dbs lower in fr:

2 liters / vented walls covered / 0db tuning peak / Fb 95hz / F3 107hz / F1 170hz / vent dia 3cm length 9.2cm / first port resonance low in spl and high in fr (unaudible)

I have sent you a PM about almost the exact driver combination. Merrimac, a 3-way speaker project from the old magazine Audio used P14RCY. From my recollection it used the standard SEAS midrange box.
